Every year, 41 billion pounds of CO2 are released in the atmosphere by the coffee roasting industry alone, contributing to the climate threat coffee farmers are already faced with. Bellwether is creating the sustainable future of coffee with our innovative technology which reduces 90% of the carbon from coffee roasting.
Launched in 2013 in Berkeley, California, Bellwether coffee’s mission is to create the sustainable future of coffee for farmers, retailers, and the planet by enabling any business to sustainably source and roast their own coffee. Bellwether offers the lowest carbon, all-electric, on-demand coffee roasting solution to small-batch artisan roasters, cafés, restaurants and larger high-volume businesses alike.
After a successful release of the V1 and V2 roaster, the Bellwether product team embarked on the design and development of a smaller, more affordable and more capable evolution which could serve even smaller businesses: The Shop Roaster.
Retaining the trademark electric ventless operation, the simplicity to install and run of previous gen Bellwether machines, the Shop Roaster is significantly more compact, as a countertop or a continuous roasting / higher throughput configuration.
Building upon a successful and distinct design language system established on previous roaster generations, See You Tomorrow collaborated very closely with the Bellwether product engineering team to address usability, intuitiveness, ergonomics, assembly, materials, manufacturing processes, etc.

See You Tomorrow created an approachable, elegant and essential aesthetic, concealing the inherently intimidating visual aspect, if not plainly hazardous roasting chamber, heat exchangers, high-voltage components, auger… Only retaining the functional touch-points such as the bean containers, filters and interactive display.
Design decisions favored optimization for the business scale and the product affordability objectives, naturally balanced with carefully executed details and overall aesthetics for a commercial equipment destined to be proudly displayed in some of the most carefully crafted retail environments.
